About the Global Ambassadors

As part of that effort to build an inclusive and collaborative community for everyone, wider recognition, understanding and appreciation for our diversity is important. It is through this diversity, as well as the unique relationship that is set out by Ti Tiriti o Waitangi, that positions Aotearoa New Zealand to better take advantage of international and global opportunities. The Global Ambassadors of Tauranga Moana will contribute to a greater recognition, understanding and capacity for international and global cooperation.

Global Ambassadors is a co-designed and co-led project

Global Ambassadors is a co-led project:

Ambassadors lead the project alongside the project leader and facilitators, making decisions together by consensus. We are guided by core mottos: "We are stronger together" and "We lift each other up".

Global Ambassadors is co-designed project:

In 2020, the first cohort (GA Primes) were partners in designing its foundation. Each cohort since has actively added to and shaped the project, then passed the torch to the next group.

About Our Ambassadors

The Ambassadors are a group of dedicated young individuals between the ages of 16 and 18 years, all of whom call Tauranga and/or Western Bay of Plenty home. They each bring unique perspectives, skills and knowledge to the group, and have all shown their interest and passion for contributing to their community as well as making the world a better place. As a team, these young people truly are a working example of the project's focus, WE ARE STRONGER TOGEHER.
