Currently, mobility parking is only enforceable on public land, not private land, and where it is enforceable, it is merely a 5 day/week, 9-5 issue. Let us then make haste and fight to improve the lives of all Kiwis with disabilities!

Did you know that according to the Ministry of Health in 2013, 24% of the New Zealand population have a disability? That’s 1.1 million Kiwis. Bearing this in mind, the Global Ambassadors are supporting the propagation of a petition to make mobility parking nationally enforceable on all NZ mobility parking spaces.

Currently, mobility parking is only enforceable on public land, not private land, and where it is enforceable, it is merely a 5 day/week, 9-5 issue. On private land, such as supermarkets, airports, shopping malls, etc, mobility parking is only enforceable as a bylaw by land owners. Such a petition will promulgate legislation to uphold the rights of all NZ mobility card permit holders, thus significantly improving the lives of all Kiwis who have mobility barriers.

The deadline for the petition is 14 February 2022, and we are aiming for as many signatures as possible. Let us then make haste and fight to improve the lives of all Kiwis with disabilities!
